The University of Kentucky is investigating its campus chapter of Turning Point USA following a complaint alleging bullying, harassment, and rhetoric that appeared to normalize violence in an online group chat.
According to FOX 56, the university received an anonymous tip raising concerns about behavior within the chapter’s private online forum. The complaint alleged instances of harassment, discriminatory language, and comments that caused safety concerns among students.
Turning Point USA is a national nonprofit student organization founded by Charlie Kirk. The group’s stated mission includes educating students on conservative principles, promoting free-market values, and building networks of young political activists.
University spokesperson Jay Blanton confirmed that the complaint has been referred to appropriate university officials for review.
“The comments, if true, are wrong and concerning,” Blanton said in a statement. “We must be committed to values of respect and civility.”

Blanton declined to specify which university department is overseeing the review or whether any temporary restrictions have been placed on the organization’s on-campus activities while the investigation is ongoing.
A University of Kentucky student and former member of the Turning Point USA chapter told FOX 56 that he witnessed troubling behavior in the online chat, including racial discrimination, homophobic remarks, and derogatory statements directed at other students.
The station also reported that a university staff member filed a report with the University of Kentucky Police Department after another student expressed concerns for their personal safety. A chapter leader later spoke with campus police regarding the allegations and said it was never the group’s intention to harass or intimidate any student.
The investigation remains ongoing, and university officials have not announced whether disciplinary action will be taken.
